In the words of Mark Twain – “The secret of success is making your vocation your vacation.”

Authentic Vocation

Following on from my post yesterday lets explore what Authentic Vocation means.

As stated yesterday an Authentic Vocation takes our passion, calling, skills, experience and helps us to identify the work that fulfils these while being realistic in our world.

There are three principles which form the foundation of Authentic Vocation:

  • For an individual to have optimum work fulfilment their vocation needs to satisfy their central life purpose – Our work is doing what we love
  • Our work also needs to utilise our skills, meet a need in the world and is financially viable for our situation – It needs to be bigger than just doing what we love
  • To achieve an authentic vocation you will need to identify what is your:
    • Life purpose
    • Values
    • Motivators
    • Knowledge and skills
    • Experience
    • Job goals/desired work
    • Desired work environment
    • Business reality

It does not matter if we are just starting out in our career, we are feeling that something just isn’t right, or we are looking for a career change, this model can work for you.

So if you would like to know how to find your Authentic Vocation contact Startafreshlife below, or just follow our blogs over the next few weeks.
