Starbucks arrived in Australia with a big bang and then left with barely a whimper from it’s customers.  Why?

Starbucks tried to impose American culture on Australia and did not consider the differences.  Australians prefer a different style of coffee and experience than that of the one Starbucks offered.  It didn’t create a need for Starbucks in the eyes of the Australian population, it was loud, obnoxious and over bearing in it’s marketing and positioning.

Australians answer to this approach – I am off to “Coffee Club”, “Hudsons” or even better my local coffee shop, thank you for coming.
